Malgr\u00e9 tout, la tr\u00e8s haute tension continue est utilis\u00e9e pour des transports sur de tr\u00e8s longues distances, notamment sous la mer et pour interconnecter des r\u00e9seaux de fr\u00e9quences diff\u00e9rentes (par exemple au Japon, pour l\u2019interconnexion entre les r\u00e9seaux 50 Hz au nord et 60 Hz au sud).<\/p>\n<p>Et la situation continue \u00e0 \u00e9voluer. En effet, la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de l\u2019interconnexion entre les pays pour assurer les \u00e9changes d\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 (par exemple <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nemo-link.com\/fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">interconnexion Nemo Link\u00ae<\/a> en mer du Nord et <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elia.be\/fr\/projets\/projets-reseau\/alegro\/alegro-content\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">interconnexion ALEGrO<\/a>) ainsi que la d\u00e9localisation des sites de production d\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 (par exemple le parc \u00e9olien en mer du Nord) impliquent le d\u00e9veloppement de liaisons \u00e9lectriques sur de longues distances, qui sont plus efficaces en courant continu. Il est cr\u00e9\u00e9 par la diff\u00e9rence de potentiel entre la haute atmosph\u00e8re (l&rsquo;ionosph\u00e8re, charg\u00e9e positivement) et la terre (charg\u00e9e n\u00e9gativement). Par temps calme, ce champ \u00e9lectrique est de l\u2019ordre de 100 \u00e0 150 V\/m, mais en cas d\u2019orage, il peut atteindre 15 \u00e0 20 kV\/m (soit 15 000 \u00e0 20 000 V\/m).<\/p>\n<p>Le CE statique est \u00e9galement \u00e0 l\u2019origine de ce que nous appelons les d\u00e9charges \u00e9lectrostatiques que nous ressentons parfois en descendant de notre voiture par temps froid et sec. Ces d\u00e9charges sont dues \u00e0 la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration d\u2019un champ \u00e9lectrique entre la voiture et notre corps, la main par exemple. Si le champ est suffisamment grand, c.\u00e0.d. s\u2019il d\u00e9passe le champ de claquage de l\u2019air (environ 300 kV\/m en fonction de l\u2019humidit\u00e9 de l\u2019air, de la pollution\u2026), l\u2019air devient conducteur et les charges accumul\u00e9es par la voiture vont s\u2019\u00e9couler instantan\u00e9ment vers le sol. Le CE statique au niveau de la main atteint des valeurs sup\u00e9rieures au champ de claquage de l\u2019air.<\/p>\n<p>Les CE statiques qui peuvent \u00eatre mesur\u00e9s sous des lignes de transport de l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 ou des lignes de train sont respectivement de l\u2019ordre de 20 \u00e0 30 kV\/m et de 600 V\/m. Parmi les aimants que nous utilisons au quotidien, les intensit\u00e9s sont de l\u2019ordre de 10 mT (10 000 \u00b5T).<\/p>\n<p>Notre terre est un formidable aimant qui, gr\u00e2ce aux lignes de force du CM statique entre ses deux p\u00f4les, nous prot\u00e8ge des radiations venues de l\u2019espace. Le champ g\u00e9omagn\u00e9tique est de l\u2019ordre de 45 \u00b5T en Belgique. Parmi les appareils m\u00e9dicaux, l\u2019IRM utilise un super aimant dont l\u2019intensit\u00e9 peut varier entre 1,5 et 10 T (1 500 000 et 10 000 000 \u00b5T).<\/p>\n<p>A proximit\u00e9 des installations \u00e9lectriques en courant continu, on peut mesurer des CM statiques de l\u2019ordre de quelques dizaines de \u00b5T sous les lignes de transport d\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 et de l\u2019ordre de 200 \u00b5T sous une ligne de train. Quand on s\u2019\u00e9loigne de 5 m\u00e8tres, on obtient des valeurs inf\u00e9rieures \u00e0 10 \u00b5T pour les lignes de transport de l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 et de l\u2019ordre de 100 \u00b5T pour les lignes de train.<\/p>\n<p>Dans un train, le CM statique est de l\u2019ordre de 40 \u00b5T. Des valeurs maximales de 120 \u00b5T ont \u00e9t\u00e9 mesur\u00e9es dans les locomotives aliment\u00e9es en courant continu (tension de 3 kV DC comme en Belgique, mesures r\u00e9alis\u00e9es dans des
