La consolidation d\u2019une fracture n\u00e9cessite un processus complexe de diff\u00e9renciation et de prolif\u00e9ration cellulaire. Elle peut \u00eatre subdivis\u00e9e en 3 phases\u00a0principales:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>La phase inflammatoire est caract\u00e9ris\u00e9e par la formation d\u2019un h\u00e9matome et par des ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes physico-chimiques qui vont activer la migration des cellules r\u00e9paratrices. Ces cellules se diff\u00e9rencient en cellules sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es destin\u00e9es \u00e0 reconstruire le tissus osseux (cellules appel\u00e9es ost\u00e9oblastes) et le cartilage (cellules appel\u00e9es chondroblastes).<\/li>\n<li>La phase r\u00e9paratrice est caract\u00e9ris\u00e9e par le formation du cal.\u00a0 Il est compos\u00e9 de chondroblastes et d\u2019ost\u00e9oblastes qui se multiplient au niveau de la fracture. Le cal initial est plut\u00f4t visqueux et ne permet pas de maintenir solidement les fragments d\u2019os. Apr\u00e8s un certain temps, le cal se calcifie et l\u2019os devient de plus en plus rigide.<\/li>\n<li>La phase de remodelage est caract\u00e9ris\u00e9e par la restauration de la taille, de la forme et de la force normales de l\u2019os fractur\u00e9. Donc, la production d\u2019os augmente, mais le tissu r\u00e9parateur ne rigidifie pas la facture. Les techniques ont \u00e9t\u00e9 am\u00e9lior\u00e9es et, par exemple en 1861, des courants directs \u00e9taient appliqu\u00e9s au niveau du site de la fracture au moyen d\u2019aiguilles. Toutefois, ces exp\u00e9riences \u00e9taient empiriques, sans justification scientifique.<\/p>\n<p>Au cours des 18<sup> e<\/sup> et 19<sup> e<\/sup> si\u00e8cles, les connaissances des ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes \u00e9lectriques se sont am\u00e9lior\u00e9es.\u00a0 C\u2019\u00e9tait l\u2019\u00e2ge de la d\u00e9couverte des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s de l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 et des champs \u00e9lectriques et magn\u00e9tiques.\u00a0 Les premi\u00e8res utilisations th\u00e9rapeutiques \u00e9taient plus \u00ab\u00a0magiques \u00bb que scientifiques.<\/p>\n<p>Comment l\u2019id\u00e9e d\u2019utiliser l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 a-t-elle germ\u00e9?
