Anthonissen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Over de mogelijke kankerverwekkende effecten van magnetische velden met een extreme lage frequentie (ELF-MF) bestaat nog altijd heel wat onenigheid. Aangezien kankerverwekking meestal verband houdt met genetische effecten (mutatie), is men het eens over het grote belang van studies over de <strong>genetische effecten van ELF<\/strong>. Tijdens deze periode (2001-2003) besteedde het team vooral veel tijd aan (1) de analyse volgens de &#8220;comet assay&#8221;-techniek op de hersen- en bloedcellen van muizen die aan magnetische ELF-velden werden blootgesteld en (2) de effecten van de combinatie van magnetische velden van 50 Hz met een aneugenische stof (bijvoorbeeld een chemische stof die de hoeveelheid cellen met een abnormaal aantal chromosomen verhoogt).<\/p>\n<p>Wij hebben geen belangrijke genetische schade kunnen aantonen als gevolg van betrekkelijk hoge niveaus van blootstelling, maar subtiele veranderingen hebben zich voorgedaan. Deze veranderingen omvatten schade ter hoogte van het DNA evenals veranderingen in het profiel van de expressie van genen en de cellulaire proliferatie.<\/p>\n<p>Over het algemeen volstaan onze waarnemingen niet om conclusies mogelijk te maken in de zin van schadelijke effecten van velden met extreem lage frequentie op de gezondheid van de mens.[\/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;1999-2000&#8243; font_container=&#8221;tag:h3|text_align:left|color:%233f3f3f&#8221; use_theme_fonts=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text]<strong>L. Anthonissen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In het kader van het lopende onderzoekscontract werd onze studie naar de effekten van ELF-velden op de celproliferatie verder gezet.<\/p>\n<p>De studie had dus te maken met celproliferatie. Vorig jaar werd een verminderde celproliferatie en -differentiatie waargenomen in precursoren van granulocyten-macrofagen (CFU-GM) na blootstelling van beenmergcellen van de muis aan ELF-magnetische velden. Gelijkaardige maar minder evidente resultaten werden bekomen bij studie van stromale cellen (CFU-f). Dit jaar werd de studie uitgevoerd op humane precursorcellen uit navelstrengbloed.
