Ledent<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ons onderzoek naar de mogelijke associatie tussen blootstelling aan extreem lage frequentie magnetische velden en een verhoogd risico op de ziekte van Alzheimer werd afgerond met een cytogenetische studie met behulp van fluorescentie in situ hybridisatie (FISH) methoden. Met deze studie konden we eerdere bevindingen niet bevestigen en dus geen argumenten aanbrengen ten gunste van een verhoogd risico voor de ziekte van Alzheimer als gevolg van blootstelling aan ELF-magnetische velden.<\/p>\n<p>Tot op heden geen robuuste argumenten hebben om ELF-magnetische velden in verband te brengen met het ontstaan of de be\u00efnvloeding van het verloop van de ziekte van Alzheimer.[\/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;2013-2017&#8243; font_container=&#8221;tag:h3|text_align:left|color:%233f3f3f&#8221; use_theme_fonts=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text]<strong>L. Anthonissen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ons onderzoek naar de mogelijke associatie tussen blootstelling aan extreem lage frequentie magnetische velden en een verhoogd risico op de ziekte van Alzheimer heeft te maken met mogelijke genetische schade zoals deze die gevonden wordt in cellen van Alzheimerpati\u00ebnten. Wij vonden een verhoogde frequentie van structurele chromosoomafwijkingen in de cellen na blootstelling van aan \u2265 100 \u03bcT magnetische velden. Dit is in overeenstemming met de literatuurgegevens. Wij vonden ook verhoogde genetische schade bij \u2265 50 \u03bcT, vermoedelijk celdelingsverstoringen en gen amplificatie. Dit zijn effecten die ook 104 bij Alzheimer patienten worden gevonden. Het is echter verre van zeker dat er wel degelijk een verband tussen ELF-MF blootstelling en de ziekte van Alzheimer bestaat. Daarom wordt ons onderzoek thans verfijnd.<\/p>\n<p>Tenslotte vonden we ook minder genetische schade in vergelijking met die in niet-blootgestelde cellen bij lage blootstellingsniveaus (&lt;10 \u03bcT) die op een &#8216;adaptieve reactie&#8217; kunnen wijzen. Het blijft nog onduidelijk of dit, op het eerste gezicht gunstig biologisch effect, blijft bestaan wanneer cellen\/organismen gedurende langere tijd blootgesteld worden. Het lijkt belangrijk om dit verder te onderzoeken.<\/p>\n<p>Wij hebben ook een overzichtsartikel geschreven en gepubliceerd over \u201cgenetische schade in mensen die aan ELF-magnetische velden werden blootgesteld\u201d (zie\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbemg.uliege.be\/files\/NL\/BBEMG2016(3)NL.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Literatuuroverzicht<\/a>). Hoewel er vaak genetische effecten werden gerapporteerd geloven lijkt ons dat tekortkomingen van de meeste gepubliceerde onderzoeken een stevige conclusie nog niet mogelijk maakt.<\/p>\n<p>We hebben ook deelgenomen aan een aantal nationale of internationale werkgroepen over &#8216;niet-ioniserende stralingen&#8217; en hebben een aantal bijeenkomsten i.v.m. problemen rond de niet ioniserende stralen bijgewoond.[\/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;2009-2013&#8243; font_container=&#8221;tag:h3|text_align:left|color:%233f3f3f&#8221; use_theme_fonts=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text]<strong>L. Moukhliss<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In onze studies over de mogelijke associatie tussen blootstelling aan extreem laag frequente magnetische velden en een verhoogd risico op de ziekte van Alzheimer lag de focus op het in vitro (cyto)genetisch onderzoek van menselijke cellen. Speciale aandacht ging naar de mogelijke co\u00f6peratieve genetische effecten met omgevingsmutagenen\/-carcinogenen en naar de inductie van defici\u00ebnties geassocieerd met de genetische schade typisch weergevonden bij Alzheimerpati\u00ebnten.<\/p>\n<p>De volgende studies\/testen werden hiertoe uitgevoerd:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Evaluatie van de cytoomtest.<\/li>\n<li>Bacteri\u00eble VITITOX test om co\u00f6peratieve schadelijke DNA effecten met chemische mutagenen (met verschillende actiemodus) op te sporen.<\/li>\n<li>Cytoomtest op menselijke C3A en SH-SY5Y cellen blootgesteld aan ELF magnetische velden. Naast deze 2 cellijnen werd ook een IMR-32 cellijn bestudeerd, hiervan zijn de resultaten niet volledig beschikbaar.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>De resultaten kunnen als volgt samengevat worden:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Er werden met de VITOTOX test geen aanwijzingen gevonden voor een co\u00f6peratief effect (ELF-magnetisch veld + chemisch mutagen\/carcinogen). Dit is enigszins in tegenspraak met onze vroegere resultaten (2003). Toen werd echter de micronucleus test toegepast in humane witte bloedcellen en werd een chemisch aneugen (celdelingsverstoring) gebruikt. beide experimenten kunnen dus bezwaarlijk met elkaar vergeleken worden.<\/li>\n<li>We vonden een toename van cellen met grote microkernen wat een aanwijzing is voor een aneugene werking. Ook de frequentie van \u2018nucleaire buds\u2019 neemt toe in cellen die aan ELF-magnetische velden zijn blootgesteld. Structurele chromosoomafwijkingen (kleine microkernen en nucleoplasmatische bruggen) namen niet toe.<\/li>\n<li>Er werd geen duidelijk effect op celproliferatie of apoptose waargenomen. De celproliferatie was wel lichtjes toegenomen bij 500 \u00b5T maar het is nog niet zeker of dit significant is. Onze vroegere experimenten in humane witte bloedcellen (800 \u00b5T)\u00a0 toonde echter ook een effect aan op de celproliferatie.<\/li>\n<li>Beide cellijnen (C3A en SH-SY5Y) vertonen dezelfde respons maar die is wel anders is dan deze van lymfocyten (onze studie van 2003).<\/li>\n<li>Fluorescente in situ hybridisatie moet toelaten van de effecten op de celdeling en de betrokkenheid van de chromosomen 17 en 21 (belangrijk in de ontwikkeling van de ziekte van Alzheimer omdat zij drager zijn van de genen Tau en amyloid \u03b2) te bevestigen (of niet). Dit wordt naast de voltooiing van de huidige experimenten onze prioriteit voor de komende 9 maanden.<\/li>\n<li>De dosis-response curves tonen een niet monotonisch verloop. Hoewel vele agentia dergelijke dosis-effect relatie vertonen (vb. natuurlijke hormonen, omgevingspolluenten, plastics, fytoestrogenen en pesticiden) is het niet duidelijk hoe dit voor ELF-magnetische velden kan verklaard worden.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Het moet gezegd worden dat we, ondanks de hierboven aangegeven bevindingen, tot op heden geen robuuste argumenten hebben om ELF-magnetische velden in verband te brengen met het ontstaan of de be\u00efnvloeding van het verloop van de ziekte van Alzheimer.<\/p>\n<p>(1) Verheyen G., Pauwels G., Verschaeve L., &amp; Schoeters G.
