BBEMG project

Investigating health effects of electric fields and magnetic induction generated by the transport and the use of electric power in our daily life and places of work (50 Hz)

What is BBEMG?

BBEMG stands for Belgian BioElectroMagnetic Group. This research group was established in 1995 in response to the research and information needs of Belgium regarding electromagnetic fields.
Three decades later, the group remains active and is embarking on a new project schedule to run from 2025 to 2029.

Our missions

  • Carrying out research designed for a better understanding of the interactions between electromagnetic fields and biological activity;
  • Contributing to the development and dissemination of scientific knowledge on the potential health effects of electric and magnetic fields;
  • Creating expertise and information centre accessible to the public, scientists, governing authorities and electricity companies.
